Qingdao-HP Software Big Data Global Application Research and Industry Foundation is under construction in Qingdao, a coastal city of east China's Shandong province.

The global software leader, Hewlett-Packard, puts 22 billion yuan ($3.3 billion) into the foundation to build global big data application research center, big data processing center, big data testing center and global strategic partner smart industrial trial zone.

Qingdao becomes the only city in China where HP builds the big data research and industry foundation.
