Serbian player defends Qingdao tennis title

Janko Tipsarevic from Serbia defended his title at the Qingdao leg of the ATP China International Tennis Challenge, attracting more than 60 players from 35 countries and regions.

Tipsarevic, ranked 89th in the world, beat German Oscar Otte 6-3, 7-6 (11) at the final on Sunday.

The 23-year-old Otte, No. 367 in the world, had beaten Australian Alex De Minaur, China's Wu Di and then fifth seeded Quentin Halys from France in the semifinals.

The Qingdao leg of the ATP China International Tennis Challenge opened on Saturday. Players can get ATP points as they are qualified in each round and the champion can get 110 points at the final.

Qingdao will hold the tournament five years in a row from 2016 to 2020.
