Three large cruise liners from MSC Cruises, SkySea and Weidong Ferry docked at the Qingdao cruise home port on Sept 25, bringing the single-day passenger throughput of the port to a record-breaking number of 7,000.

The Qingdao port has serviced 77 cruise voyages since the beginning of 2017, handling 87,000 inbound and outbound tourists.

In a bid to boost cruise business, the port authority presented tailor made service schemes to cruise company clients such as Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, and Costa, and as a result, added 20 plus voyages to the original calendar for 2017.
