Wonderful and exciting regattas, kayaking races that test both endurance and speed and elegant water yoga performances are all highlights of the First Qingdao Municipal Water Sports Carnival that opened at Lanwan Art Park, Qingdao in late September.

The carnival was divided into two sections: Qingdao Municipal Sailing Classic and Water Sports Experience for Local Citizens.

Carnival-goers can try a wide range of water sports equipment such as Optimist sailboats, ByteCII sailboats, sailboards, kayak and paddle boards; they can also watch water yoga which is of great aesthetic value.

On Xiangmao River, five young women performed highly challenging Yoha movements each on a piece of narrow surfboard. As the surfboards moved slowly on the river, the performers did not stir at all, demonstrating great capacity to keep balance. It was a sight never seen before for many citizens and tourists.
