Qingdao issues action plan for hi-tech sector

Several government departments of Qingdao, including the technology department, development and reform commission, and economy and information technology commission, jointly issued a five-year action plan for the city’s hi-tech industry between 2017 and 2021 lately.

The action plan sets path for the development of hi-tech sector based on thorough investigations on various hi-tech industries in the city.

According to the plan, 25 hi-tech industries including telecommunications, new energy vehicle, pharmaceutical, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence are estimated to reach 440 billion yuan in main business income by 2021, with a 20 percent average annual growth.
