Meidaizhao Old Village is situated about 50 kilometers east of Baotou, roughly midway between Baotou and Hohhot. Built in the Ming Dynasty, Meidaizhao Village has a history of over 400 years. It is a typical lamasery that combines town and temple in one, involving Han, Mongolian and Tibetan architectural styles. It owns a large number of well-preserved frescoes, which are very precious. Besides, Meidaizhao Village holds a traditional temple fair on May 13th of the lunar calendar, which is the most magnificent goods and culture exchange meeting.

Admission: 25 yuan (10 yuan for the guide's fee);

How to get there: Take train from Hohhot to Salaqi and then take bus No.6

Tips: 1. The price can be negotiated during the low season;

         2. Service is very good.
