Located in the west part of Jixi County, Anhui province, Shangzhuang Village, previously called Shangchuan, is surrounded by green mountains and clean water, embodying a concentrated reflection of the construction style of official and commoner residences alike during the period of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The scenic area integrates historic building culture, folk customs, rural landscapes and custom demonstrations, perfect for natural landscape tourism and leisure vacations.

Special features: topographic features, landscapes, former residence of philosopher and scholar Hushi, dwelling houses

Admission: 21 yuan

How to get there: No direct bus route to the village. You may take a local taxi or hire a car.

Tips: You'd better hire a guide when getting around the village, which is like a maze for visitors easy to enter but hard to get out because of its complex alley system.
