Located in the Jixi County of Anhui province, Kengkou Village, previously called Longchuan, is located next to the grand Longxu Mountain. An area in the village called the Ruobian Ferry is the hometown of famous musician Zhang Shu. Behind one of the local middle schools is a giant, thousand-year-old camphor tree, which needs more than four people holding hands to encircle its trunk. According to local folklore, this is where the famous politician Zhang Liang was buried. There is also Hu Ancestral Hall, a key cultural relic under state protection, built in the Song Dynasty. Highly praised by experts, it is famous for its wood carvings. The village also housed many celebrities from ancient times to the present, including famous businessman Hu Xueyan, well-known scholar Hu Shi and the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Hu Jintao.

Special features: giant camphor tree, Hu Ancestral Hall

Admission: 58 yuan

How to get there: Take a bus to Longchuan Senic Zone from Jixi station (2 yuan).

Tips: 1. It is very difficult to book a hotel in holidays. Happy Farmhouse is another good choice in peak seasons with its cheaper price.

         2. Since Jixi County is the hometown of Hui-style cuisine, you may enjoy some local dishes and snacks.
