Situated in Huitong County of Hunan province, Gaoyi Village is south of Xuefeng Mountain. Most residents are surnamed Yang and are all Dong ethnic minority people. Most of their structures are built with blue brick, in a combination of the Hunan style and Dong ethnic minority style. Decorations, such as color paintings and door carvings, of these houses are beautiful and unique.

Admission: 30 yuan

How to get there: Take a bus to Huitong County at downtown Huaihua City and then hire a car.

Tips: 1.The best season to visit the village is September and October;

         2. A guide is necessary for getting around the village. Connected with each other, all the houses in Gaoyi Village are made of wood with similar appearance. Visitors can easily get lost in the village. Even the middle-aged villager can’t know every path in the village;

         3. Farmhouse available for lodging, 50 yuan per person; star-rated hotels 100 yuan per person.
