A concert has been held in the Cuban capital Havana to mark the International Day of Peace.

The much-anticipated concert on Sunday, named "Peace Without Borders," featured renowned Colombian musician and superstar of the international hit "tenga la Camisa Negra", Juanes.

Peace without borders, just like the music.

The concert attracted hundreds of thousands of Cubans, who flocked to Havana's Revolution Square.

Performers and audience members all wore white, to symbolize peace.

Juanes, a 17-time Grammy-award winner, worked with Cuban authorities to put together the event.

Juanes said the point of his "Peace Without Borders" concert was not political, but to encourage "hope and dreams."

Juanes, Cilombian Musician, said, "It's a message of peace, not only for Cuba. It's for the entire region. What is happening is very sad. How we are polarized and divided and fighting because we think differently."

Juanes brought together 14 artists from six countries, including Puerto Rican singer Olga Tanon and Spanish singer Miguel Bose.

It is the second time that Juanes has staged his "Peace Without Borders" concert. The first, in March 2008, drew tens of thousands to the border between Venezuela and Colombia.

The Cuban government said more than 160 foreign journalists were accredited to cover the show, and it was shown live on television and the Internet.
