Guo Wei said, " At the very beginning, people usually felt weird that a BOY was involved in belly dance. They thought belly dance is a feminine dance which should only be performed by girls. But when a dancer can show his or her excellent dancing skills to the audience, the gender of this dancer will be ignored. This is only about the art of dance. "

Guo's philosophy and enthusiasm for the dancing art attracts thousands of students to his club every year. Some specially come just to learn from him, and to engage in it as a life-long interest.

Guo Wei said, "Belly dance has a deep cultural history, which goes back over 3,500 years. It is a traditional art form. So the longer the history of a dance is, the more a dancer should learn. So, to keep learning becomes a common thing for a dancer to do. That's also one of the reasons why belly dance has become popular and welcomed by more and more people."

For Guo, belly dancing is life but for many at his club, it's simply a great way keep fit.

It's not as technical as ballet, and not as wild as pop dance or jazz. Belly dance has a small learning curve that makes it easy to pick up even for amateurs, who have no dancing background. It adds joy to their daily life.

"After learning belly dance, I have a new recognition of dance. Belly dance has brought me a new feeling."

"I used to be fat before.I was 84kg. Now I am not heavier than 70kg. My body is more strong now."

"The flexibility and coordination of my body is much better now. I have a better ability to control my body."

"Who cooks better in the family? No doubt it's my dad. And it's common in Egypt that the top belly dancers are males. People's minds have changed nowadays. Nothing is impossible."
