US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says that Pakistan is not alone in fighting militants.

She reiterated America's strong support for its ally during a lively question and answer session with students in Lahore.

Speaking to the students at the Government College of Lahore, Hillary Clinton said Pakistan is standing on the front lines of the battle against extremism. But she promises that the US is right there with the country.

Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State, said, "Now these attacks may be happening on your territory, but this is not your fight alone. These extremists are committed to destroying that which is dear to us, as much as they are committed to destroying that which is dear to you, and to all people. And you are standing on the front lines of this battle but we are standing with you."

Clinton also expressed confidence in their national leadership.

Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State, said, "I have no doubt that, given the courageous efforts of the Pakistan military and the commitment of the democratically elected government, that you will be successful against this scourge of terrorism. But I don't want the terrorism to overshadow the story of everything else going on in Pakistan."

Before flying on to the capital, Islamabad, Clinton met with opposition leader, and former Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif.

She rounded out her time in Lahore by meeting with local business leaders late in the afternoon.
