An American window washer has survived after falling eight stories from a building in Seattle, Washington. The local Fire Department says a safety rope helped spare his life.

Surveillance video shows the 34-year-old man plummeting from the building, and bouncing as he hit the ground. The Fire Department says the rope got caught on the second floor, and softened the impact. The lucky window cleaner was conscious and talking to paramedics at the scene. He was then hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
