Jingdezhen is famed as the capital of fine porcelain, not only in China, but around the world as well. Now, a full display of the beauty of the art form is being exhibited at the National Center for the Performing Arts.

The stars of the exhibition are the 300 masterpieces by the country's most famous porcelain artists. The works cover a wide range of content and variety, with the focus being to show the new achievements on traditional porcelain-making.

Huang Shiquan, Director of Jingdezhen China Porcelain Museum, said"As science and technology develop, the craft of porcelain production also improves. See these 300 pieces on display and you'll get a full look of how new elements are incorporated into the ancient art in various ways."

And you may be the next to see the change on your own dining table. This set is a new production based on one of the most traditional skills called "Linglong," or porcelain inlaid with carved patterns that seem to be in a different layer.

Taking cues from innovative design and new technologies, while maintaining core traditional skills, Jingdezhen county has earned a two-year increase of 70 percent from its porcelain making, and the annual production has been over 10-billion yuan.

The exhibition, which runs at "The Egg" until next Wednesday, also shows viewers some of the process involved in making porcelain. And there will be lectures on how to appreciate porcelain.
