The platform built for ski-jumping is especially sensitive to atmospheric conditions. It's yet to be completely built as the snow that's fallen isn't as rigid as it should be and that can impact on the platform's consistency as well as the athletes' standard of performance. Experts spent days of testing before coming up with a solution. Workers are installing a set of black pipelines which they hope will strengthen the platform and create proper conditions for competition.

Elsewhere, Vancouver's downtown city lights look more colorful. Workers installed polychrome-colored Olympic flags. The countdown clock in Robson Square is another famous spot in Vancouver, attracting people from all over the world. And crews are building an entertainment area with a stage for live performances on the other side of the Square. The Winter Olympic games begin February 12th.
