Viktor Yanukovych will be inaugurated as the new Ukrainian president on February 25th. The announcement came on Tuesday, despite Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko's continued challenge to the poll.

The Ukraine parliament voted to go ahead with the "swearing in" ceremony at Tuesday's session. On the same day, incumbent president Viktor Yuschenko said the election results mean a change of course for the country.

Tymoshenko, who appears to have lost the February 7th presidential run-off election, still refuses to concede. She is now pressing to prove her claims of ballot fraud in court before the inauguration ceremony. Yanukovych's party is in talks with other sides to create a new parliamentary coalition that could oust Tymoshenko from her post.
