From cots that rock your little one to sleep, to belts that rock your womb with sound to lull your unborn child...parenthood has never been so advanced. The gadgets were all part of a three-day baby show held in the UK.

There is growing research that playing music to babies in the womb is beneficial. The Ritmo company has invented a belt with four built-in disc-shaped speakers. It straps close to the mum's skin and lulls unborn babies with surround sound.

And, once your baby is born, there are plenty of other products which can be used to soothe them.

This cot has a "Easidream Mattress", where air pressure is sent in to make it moves up and down in a pulsating motion. The manufacturer claims it can coax your child into a peaceful sleep without keeping you on your feet all night.

Lynda Harding, Inventor of Easidream Mattress, said, "The inspiration for the product was due to my youngest child, Bradley, who was a particularly challenging sleeper. And the only thing that actually managed to settle him off to sleep was if I leant over the side of the cot and lifted the mattress up and down."

All these products are on the market for the first time this year. But while they are clever, success isn't certain.

Heidi Moore, Mother, said, "It's good but you're going to have to, sort of, rely on it, which I don't like relying on things with a baby. If you can do things as natural as possible I think you're onto more of a winner."

The Baby Show ran at London's Excel center from February 12th to the 21st. Companies here plan on making ten and a half million US dollars in sales straight after the show.
