We have treated over one thousand people so far. The second batch of rescuers including four medical teams, ten epidemic prevention squads, and eight counseling teams have been set up and will arrive at the quake zone soon. They will take a large amount of medical equipment and medicine with them. "

In addition, two teams of experts specializing in altitude sickness have left for Yushu from cities of Chengdu and Chongqing. They will educate rescuers on the dangers of the condition and how to prevent it.

They will also treat patients currently suffering from the condition. In addition, experts have been sent to help purify water in the area, in order to prevent epidemic diseases.

Meanwhile, the Qinghai provincial blood bank has already sent more than 28-thousand milliliters of blood to the disaster zone to help the injured there.
