Three survivors have been saved, in 2 separate dramatic rescues, more than five days after the Yushu earthquake. James Kim has the story.

On Monday, just before noon, a 68-year-old Tibetan grandmother and a 4 -year-old Tibetan girl were pulled out of the rubble in Xinzhai Village about 20 kilometers away from Yushu county. They had endured 123 hours before their dramatic rescue.

The two were sent to the People's Hospital in Yushu County. The young girl had no injuries and has returned home. The 68 year old grandmother who also defied the odds, is now recovering comfortably with no serious injuries.

A relative of survivor said, "They were buried here when the earthquake struck, but we sent meals to them everyday."

Later on Monday, a 30 -year-old Tibetan woman was rescued in Xihang Village of Gyegu Town. Rescue officials say her physical condition is stable. She has been sent to hospital for further physical examinations.

Currently, almost 70 rescue teams are on the ground in the quake stricken areas, working day and night to search for others who may still be alive, buried under the rubble.
