Monday marks the 200-day countdown to the opening ceremony for the Asian Games. All of the competitive venues are expected to be ready by the end of June.

The Guangdong Olympic Aquatics Center will be the main venue for the Asian Games' indoor water sports, including swimming and diving. The location has room for 4,400 spectators, and the center is filled with details for lighting, acoustics and a high-definition television screen. The irregular shape of the roof has other functions.

The Program Manager of Guangzhou Architecture Group Zhang Qiang said, "The roof can be opened and the wind can be used to decrease the need for air conditioning inside the arena."

After the Guangzhou Asian Games, the Aquatics Center will be used as the National Team's winter training base.

The Asian Games Town includes venues for Gymnastics, Cue Sports and Squash. It also includes other locations, like the Athletes' Village, the Technical Official's village and the Media village. The use of solar energy keeps it environmentally friendly.

Thousands of Guangzhou citizens came to the Hero's square to welcome the 200-day countdown monument. They enjoyed a new round of sports-for-all action as opening day gets closer.
