Heavy rain water has flooded the streets of Pengxiang County. Bridges and cannel are damaged and transportation were cut off in many places. Houses were damaged or flooded.

Mr. Wang, Pengxiang resident, Chongqing,said, "The first two floors were totally flooded, quilts, food are all down stairs and all submerged."

Mr. Wang said, "Rice, oil, all were flooded, the water level is higher than me. People saved me "

Pengxiang policeman Zhang Jun said, "We rushed to different areas to save people. Now the main task is to save lives."

So far, no casualties have been reported from the County yet.

The Chongqing municipal Civil Affairs Bureau responded to the disaster swiftly and started relief work.

They have sent 300 tents, 1,000 quilts and emergency lights to the counties.

The municipal health authorities have dispatched two teams of medical workers to help those in need .
