In addition to rainstorms, even more extreme weather has hit several other parts of China. Gale and hail killed 7 people, and injured about 100, in Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Saturday. Snow and hail have damaged crops in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region as well.

This is a video taken by a Heilongjiang villager, using his mobile phone.

In the town of Hailun, some are still in shock at what the weather has done.

Hailun villager Meng Fanping said, "I was standing in the room, the wind pushed through the wall, then took away the roof, and blow me onto the haystack. I was dumbfounded."

Saturday afternoon's gale and hail has affected the lives of over 8-thousand people in Suihua, Heilongjiang.

On the same day, Shaya County, in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, was pounded by hail. Thousands of hectares of crops were affected, with some completely ruined.

In the northern areas of Xinjiang, heavy snow battered more than a thousand hectares of farmland. Wheat crops were covered by thick drifts. Melting snow is also causing floods.

Bohu County official Chen Yanhua said, "This disaster is the heaviest in record history. The pressure for disaster relief is very intense."

Snow also caused power cuts in many areas of northern Xinjiang. This year's spring plowing has been delayed again and again, due to unexpectedly inclement weather.
