Stricter car emission standards have been imposed in China's Pearl Delta Region. The Ministry of Environment Protection issued the notice, to help protect the local environment. Let's take a look at how the new regulation will affect the auto market.

Better cars, for a better environment.

In the Pearl Delta region, the sale and registration of cars that don't meet the emission standards equivalent to China four, have been banned.

It came into effect June first.

Guangdong's provincial government is expected to announce which cars meet the new standard. Cars that don't, won't be allowed on local auto market.

Currently sixty percent of cars in the market don't meet the China four standard.

Huang Yongjiang, one car dealer said "For those carmakers who don't meet the new China four car emission standard, they'll have to upgrade their assembly lines, or try their best to update their vehicles."

It's good news for big automakers. Consumers tends to choose well-known brands, because their quality is guaranteed.

One consumer said "The car market will be affected, and those with poor quality in the market will be affected. Meanwhile, the consumers will also take the new emission standard into consideration, and they will choose to buy autos of reliable quality. "

Some consumers presume imported cars meet the China four standard. But buyers are warned to beware.

One car engineer said "The China four standard is similar to the Euro four standard, and imported cars are of good quality. But some think all imported cars meet the new standard. That's not the case. The best thing is to get to know the car models and see the quality license. There is a government-approved emission standard and consumers should really keep an eye out for this. "

The new regulation is expected to reduce car emissions by 15 to 20 percent.

The bad news is the price of gas for China four standard is a little more expensive than that for China three standard.

The number of new cars purchased in the Pearl River Delta region, surpasses one million a year. The market is one of the most important auto production bases and markets in China.
