The UK Pavilion inside the World Expo park is holding a tea party, and they are serving their premiere brand Twinings to the visitors in Shanghai. Let's stop in for a tasting.

The man giving the speech is Stephen Twining, the tenth heir to the Twinings Tea Brand. In 1706, Thomas Twining opened the first tea room in London, which is still operating today. Twinings became a royal brand in 1837.

At the Shanghai World Expo, the centuries old brand is producing a new flavor.

Stephen Twining has an innate enthusiasm towards the family business. During his school years, his geography teacher asked him to introduce tea, the largest export from India to Britain. He then held his first tea party in his lifetime. At the party, Twining concocted a summer drink for visitors.

Stephen Twining is also bringing a collection of family antiques to the World Expo. This wooden case, in particular, has a history of two-hundred years. This receipt shows that in the 18th century, tea was a luxury for ordinary residents in Britain.

China has a tea culture dating back one-thousand years. For Twining, both of the tea-loving nations have something in common.
