China and Pakistan have wrapped up a seven-day joint military drill. It was the largest exercise between the two Asian neighbors in a decade.

The two countries combined air-forces and ground assaults on presumed terrorists in the mountains.

On Friday, the two armies struck presumed terrorists in a mountain village along the China-Pakistan border. Terrorists were setting up training centers and seeking to attack. The two armies launched a preemptive strike and destroyed the enemy base and freed hostages.

It's the first time the two armies launched both air-strikes and ground attacks, forming a three-dimensional encirclement.

After the exercise, General Ma Xiaotian of the Chinese People's Liberation Army said he is satisfied with the joint drill.

General Ma Xiaotian, Deputy Chief of General Staff of PLA, said, "I'm very satisfied with the achievements we have reached during the joint drill. Armies on both sides have shown valiant fighting spirit, first-rate techniques and are hard working. We have completed our task successfully."

Code named "Friendship-2010," the drill is the third of its kind between China and Pakistan in six years. A total of 226 border soldiers from the two countries participated.
