Sergio Paulinho of the Radioshack team claimed victory in Stage 10 of the Tour de France on Wednesday.

However, the French crowd, were left to rue a lack of home-grown talent on the podium as they celebrated Bastille Day.

Stage ten took the road-weary riders on a 179-kilometre journey from Chambery to Gap. Luxembourg's Andy Schleck began the day in the famed yellow jersey.

Sergio Paulinho of Radioshack was part of a four man group that were the first to break away from the snaking pelaton, soon after the start.

And Paulinho and Vasil Kiriyienka of Caisse d'Epargne made a 'two-horse race' of the final few kilometres.

It would be a photo finish at the line, with Paulinho claiming the stage win, by half-a-wheel length from Kiryienko.

The yellow jersey remains with Schleck. Defending champion Alberto Contador sits in second place...more than ten minutes off the pace.
