The largest flood peak this year has smoothly passed the upper reaches of the Yangtze River after being controlled with the Three Gorges Dam. But as rain continues to hit the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, many of the Yangtze's tributaries including the Jialing, Minjiang, and Tuojiang rivers in southwest China are still above warning levels.

In the Yangtze's middle reaches of Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province, water levels remain above the danger warning. The water level of Dongting, Poyang and Tai Lakes have also surpassed warning levels.
