South China's Guangdong Province kicked off a 100-day countdown to the 16th Asian Games. In the capital city of Guangdong, a spectacular ceremony was staged to celebrate the occasion.

It's an important day for Guangzhou, with the Asian Games just 100 days away.

A grand celebration of today's milestone the 100-minute gala was entitled "Dream Of This Moment".

Well known singers joined a two-thousand strong chorus to light up the occasion.

Members of the chorus were selected from all walks of life, including students, workers, retirees, soldiers and government officials.

It was a chance for the people of Guangzhou to welcome their friends from other Asian nations and across the world.

All the elements of "Classic China" were under the spotlight. Blue and white porcelain and Chinese martial arts performances were big features.

At the centerpiece of the ceremony was the unveiling of the three contenders for the Games' theme song.

"Reunion", "Sunshine Again" and "Glorious Presence" are now in the final round, competing for glory at the Opening Ceremony.

People can make a guess as to which one will be chosen as the official theme song on the Games' website, or via their cell-phones. The prize? A ticket to the Games.
