In order to get the latest news about the flooding in Sichuan, reporters are following rescue teams. Now let's follow the experience of one of them and see what risks she has to go through.

Liu Yang never expected to be part of her disaster coverage.

The 23-year-old reporter from Chengdu TV was following a rescue team on the outskirts of Dujiangyan city.

She was swept away when crossing a temporary bridge made of bamboo and rope.

Liu suffered a bruising, but was otherwise unhurt.

Persistent rainfall since Friday has caused floods, landslides, and mudslides in Mianzhu and Dujiangyan of Sichuan, leaving dozens of people dead or missing.

Rescue teams are combing the areas to find survivors and help residents evacuate.
