The visit by a high-level Philippine government delegation to Beijing and the Hong Kong SAR, to brief the Chinese side on the hijacking incident has been postponed.

Philippine Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda says the visit will be rescheduled soon. According to him, the Philippine government is waiting on confirmation from the Chinese side on the arrangement that will ensure that the mission of the planned visit is achieved."

At the same time, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu has urged the Philippines to get to the bottom of the incident, and noted this is the most urgent task at hand.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong law enforcement officials say forensic tests are underway on the bodies of the 8 victims of the tragedy.
