Chinese 1st batch of aid arrives in Pakistan

China's first batch of humanitarian supplies sent overland, has arrived in Pakistan. It includes rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour, salt and other necessities.

 

China is sending a total of 120 million yuan, or the equivalent of 18 million US dollars worth of aid materials, by land, to Pakistan, in three batches. The first batch was dispatched Friday from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

The journey covered 530 kilometers, through bad road conditions and high altitude. The humanitarian aid, comes without conditions. Pakistan has praised China's assistance. The next two batches, besides daily necessities, will include, medical equipment, medicines, petrol and diesel oil.
