China wins 1st gold in Synchronized Swimming

We begin with Chinese athletics history as the twin duo of Jiang Wenwen and Jiang Tingting have won the nation's first gold medal at an international competition.

 

The pair, winning gold at home as the 12th FINA Synchronized Swimming World Cup begun in Changshu, Jiangsu province.

The day would a historic moment for Chinese Synchronized swimming. The Jiang twins, took to the pool against some of the worlds best from all across the globe.

More than 1,400 spectators were on hand, many of whom were there to watch the Chinese team and they would not be disappointed. In the doubles event, the Chinese twins chose the Dance of Cranes for their theme.

The Jiang sisters showed their class to the home fans and judges. They were awarded 96.650 points to claim the first gold for China in Synchronized swimming.

China claims silver in team event

in the team event China choose their wardrobe and music from the film Alice in Wonderland. Their routine, wasn't as mad as a hatter, but the judges did think the queens of the pool were good enough for silver.
