Flooding in Thailand has affected tourism in the country greatly. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports issued an assessment report on flooding impact on Sunday saying it costs at least 1.7 million U.S. dollars loss in tourism revenue.

Most Thai tourists have canceled practically all their bookings in severely flood-stricken regions. The ministry said rehabilitation will begin right after water levels recede in order to restore tourist sites that are in ruins from floods.

There are currently 28 provinces in Thailand submerged under floodwaters after monsoon causing widespread downpours and flash flood hit the country on Oct. 10. So far 38 lives were claimed by the heavy flooding and more than 2 million people suffered.
