Mount Merapi in Indonesia's Central Java, has erupted again, showing it remains dangerous after the major blowout on Tuesday which left at least 33 people dead.

Some of the victims died as they fled their homes or after being admitted to hospital. The hot ash left at least 14 others seriously injured, most of them with severe burns to the face and hands. They are being treated in hospital. 400 thousand people have been displaced. Officials say the trajectory of the volcanic material is short, around three and a half kilometers from the peak. More than 40 thousand residents near the volcano have taken shelter at barracks, makeshift tents and relatives' houses.
