Competitive Dancing will be included in the Asian Games for the first time this year. Three couples will represent China in the standard dance portion of the competition, competing for a total of five gold medals. Here is a look at how China's best are getting ready to hit the dancefloor.

Beijing Sports University's Shen Hong and Liang Yujie, are ranked second on the China DanceSport Series. They preformed an excellent Tango routine at the Zhengzhou leg of the tour. The newly composed dance will enable them to strive for gold at the Asian Games. The couple says it is a dream come true to compete at the games.

Shen Hong said, "DanceSport was a demonstration event for 12 years at the Asian Games. Now it is a medal sport. To every one of us dancers, it's a great opportunity for the sport and us to be recognized and gain popularity."

Liang Yujie said, "There are more than 30 million dancers in China. We are able to represent China to compete in the Asian Games. This is a great honor for us. If we are lucky to win gold, I think it will greatly boost the development of our dance career.'

Slow Foxtrot is considered the most elegant dance in the standard category. Guangdong couple Wu Zhi'an and Lei Ying showcased their combination of graceful moves. The couple hopes this newly-organized routine will ensure a gold medal for them before local spectators.

Wu zhi’an said,"This routine highlights the grace and softness of our moves. The whole idea of the routine is to display the elegant shapes of our bodies. We slow down the speed of our moves, aiming to present the beauty of Foxtrot at a slower tempo"

Those ballroom couples will also try their best to win medals in Waltz and Quickstep. They will go under the spotlight on November 13th and 14th when DanceSport finals take place.
