Finally, Hu Jintao urged cooperation in major international affairs, such as the world economic recovery, UN reform and climate change.

The Portuguese President echoed Hu Jintao's views, noting that his country is willing to play a bigger role in promoting Sino-EU relations.

President Hu is scheduld to hold talks with Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Socrates. The two sides are expected to sign agreements on cooperation in trade and other economic spheres, as well as cultural exchanges.
