Three Chinese naval ships are bound for the Gulf of Aden and Somali waters to protect ships through the pirate-plagued waters. The ships are expected to enter the Indian Ocean on Monday.
This is the seventh escort fleet, sent by the Chinese Navy, which is comprised of two missile frigates, one supplying ship and two shipborne helicopters. On board, are nearly 800 crew members, including dozens of special weapons and tactics team sailors. The Chinese Navy, successfully escorted more than 28-hundred ships from China and other foreign countries since the end of 2008.
