The South Korean military has announced it will go ahead with live-fire drills, originally scheduled for Sunday near the peninsula's west coast. The venue is Yeonpyeong Island, where four South Koreans were killed in a DPRK artillery attack last month.

South Korea has said the drills were delayed due to bad weather. Pyongyang has put its military artillery units on high alert. The DPRK says the artillery fire drill will trigger an all-out conflict on the peninsula and promised a more severe counter response than last month. South Korea has said if it's attacked in the same manner as last month, it will hit back hard with air strikes and bombs.
