Hong Kong megastar Andy Lau's "Unforgettable" concert kicked off at Hong Kong Coliseum on Monday. Thousands of the singer's fans gathered to celebrate his 30th anniversary in show business.

Lau's series of concerts, which go on for twenty consecutive nights, are one of the most anticipated events at the end of 2010.

To help with Lau's dancing skills, late pop star Michael Jackson's choreographers, Travis Payne and Stacy Walker, were invited to train him and choreograph the opening section of the show.

Japanese fashion icon Yoji Yamamoto, to whom's label Lau has been a loyal fan for decades, was in charge of costume design.

When Lau met the press after the show, the singer said that the concert was not a real challenge this time.

Andy Lau, said, "I'm not an idol. I'm not a singer with real strength. It's a concert about physical work. I hope you can see that I have done all I can do at this age. It's an attentive and intimate concert. Actually, that's not a real challenge to me."

Lau has been one of Hong Kong's most commercially successful film actors since the mid-1980s, performing in more than 120 films while maintaining a successful singing career at the same time. In the 1990s, Lau was branded by the media as one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Cantopop.

Hong Kong star Andy Lau performs during his concert 'Unforgettable 2010" in Hong Kong Monday, Dec. 20, 2010. The concerts will be held from Dec. 20 to Jan. 8.
