If there's enough flour and eggs leftover Japan can certainly use it for some creative baking... As the year of the rabbit approaches, products and services featuring the animal are selling fast in Japan.

One Tokyo hotel is offering rabbit-shaped cakes for New Year celebrations. One hundred-twenty of the cakes will go on sale from Thursday, but nearly half have already been reserved. In Yokohama, a "rabbit cafe" is getting so popular that there is a two-hour waiting list on weekends. Customers can sit with a bunny on their lap as they drink. Official survey shows that one in three Japanese, aged twenty or over, have an animal at home, and rabbits are the fifth most popular pet. In ancient Japan, rabbits were thought to bring great fortune and safety to families.
