Staying in the US Tucson residents want justice for the man charged with killing 6 and injuring 20 in a shooting rampage over the weekend.

Jared Lee Loughner made his first court appearance on Monday while congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was still in a critical but stable condition in a local hospita following emergency brain surgery.

Residents of the grief-stricken city are still coping with the tragedy. As for punishment, many seem to think that suspect Loughner deserves the most severe punishment the court system can hand down.

Kit O'Connor, Local Resident, said, "He's still being called the alleged shooter which is pretty preposterous. The number of witnesses basically precludes he's instantly guilty. I do not know if Arizona has the death penalty, but if there is one, then this warrants is."

Hosh Conver, Local Resident, said, "I am not a huge proponent of the death penalty, but if there is a circumstance, this probably is pretty close to it. Certainly life in jail. Anytime you target a public official whose rule is to serve the people assassination should carry death penalty."
