Air force transports evacuees to Beijing

Chinese air force transporters, are due to arrive shortly at the Nanyuan Airport in Beijing. These air force transporters were sent to pick up Chinese nationals who had been evacuated from Libya.

 

The first IL-76 MD transport aircraft took off Thursday afternoon from Khartoum, Sudan. According to the Ministry of National Defense, the Chinese air force has sent four IL-76 MD transport aircraft to evacuate the Chinese nationals.

As of Thursday morning, the four planes had flown 8 sorties between Libya and Sudan, evacuating more than 16 hundred people.
