Coalition forces have launched the fifth day of air strikes against government military targets in Libya.

On Wednesday, Danish F-16 fighter jets took off from the Sigonella air base in Sicily, as operations continued to enforce a UN-authorized no-fly zone over the North African nation.

Seven jet fighters and a transport plane of the Royal Danish Air Force have been assigned to take part in Operation Odyssey Dawn.

At the Trapani Birgi base also in Sicily, Italian Typhoons and a Canadian Airbus have taken off. At Souda air base on the Greek island of Crete, US Air Force KC-135R air are fueling tankers and Norwegian jet fighters.

The French aircraft carrier, Charles de Gaulle, remains stationed off the Libyan coast with over 20 warplanes on board.
