Seven year old Chinese girl Li Hongyan has been honored as Ambassador of Green at the Sixth Global Forum on Human Settlements. The ceremony was held at the U.N. headquarters in New York.

First grade student Li is the youngest Ambassador of Green in the forum's history. She persuades people around her to adopt a green lifestyle. She likes to introduce green knowledge to classmates, and will even stop passers-by from littering in the park.

The forum's president spoke highly of China's efforts in enhancing children's environmental protection awareness. He believes the consistent acts shown by kids like Li will encourage more children to join the green efforts.
