Beijing underpass busker wins over commuters

Then, she sets out for her underpass "stage".

She arrives before other buskers to secure prime position.

Her melodious playing and sweet singing often slows down rushing commuters.

For her, the greatest reward comes in hearing her audience applause.

A British passerby once dropped 50 pounds, or more than 500 yuan, into her guitar case to encourage her to pursue her dream.

"I never imagined someone would give me so much money. He advised me to buy a new guitar and continue practicing. I was so touched that I cried." Li Huimin said.

More buskers arrive at the underpass to capitalize on the afternoon rush hour.

Li Huimin leaves for lunch, allowing her counterparts to take center stage.

Later, the budding songstress practices her chords.

With no television or computer, Li Huimin's guitar is an outlet for her to express herself.

Back at the underpass, she continues honing her performance...hoping one day to fulfil her dream of musical stardom.
