A suspect has been charged with first degree murder in the killing of a 23-year old Chinese woman studying in Toronto, Canada. Liu Qian of Beijing, was found dead in her apartment Friday.

The suspect has been named as 29-year-old Brian Dickson. Police did not release any more details, but asked the media not to publish any photos of Dickson, saying it could compromise the investigation. Liu was chatting with her boyfriend back home by webcam around 1am Friday, when a man knocked on the door. Her boyfriend reported seeing a struggle break out before Liu's webcam was shut off. He contacted other friends in Toronto who in turn called police.

Liu was a student at York University. School authorities say Dickson was not. Dickson is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.
