Syrian security forces shot dead at least 30 demonstrators in protests that broke out across the country on Friday.

Demonstrations erupted in multiple cities one day after the United States told President Bashar al-Assad to reform or step down. Protestors are calling for an end to Assad's rule. But authorities blame most of the violence on armed groups, backed by Islamists and outside powers.

Meanwhile, an amateur video has emerged showing an ambulance crew being shot at during anti-government protests in the city of Daraa. The attack occurred as people were demonstrating in the streets and it is believed to have taken place on May 13th.
