US President Barack Obama is on a state visit to the UK. He has attended a state dinner at Buckingham Palace held by Queen Elizabeth the Second.

President Obama and the Queen affirmed the bond between the two countries. Obama is the second US president to be accorded a state visit to Britain during the reign of Queen Elizabeth the Second. He will hold meetings with British Prime Minister David Cameron on Wednesday.

The talks are expected to focus on Afghanistan, Libya and counter-terrorism. President Obama is also expected to deliver a speech at the British Parliament on bilateral ties.
