Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency have visited Japan's troubled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. They are aiming to assess efforts to stabilize its reactors by the operator's self-declared deadline of the end of the year.

Power plant operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company, whose representatives accompanied the investigators, say the team looked at the plant's damage and examined the insides of the four most troubled units. The 18-member team also met government officials and visited two other nuclear plants a few days earlier. They plan to submit a report to the Japanese government Tuesday.
