As China's severe drought continues, many cities are turning to artificial rainfall. The only cloud seeding rocket-maker in east China's Jiangxi province is working around the clock to meet the demand.

The unrelenting drought has boosted southern China's demand for cloud seeding rockets.

In this factory in eastern Jiangxi province, they are working hard to complete orders.

Zhou Jianzhong, Rainfall Rocket Dept., said, "A rainfall rocket should go through dozens of workers and hundreds of processes. They are working 10 to 12 hours a day instead of 8 hours, like before."

Staff say the need for rockets is obvious this year owing to the lack of rainfall. But the company has been inundated with orders as the drought refuses to come to an end.

Gu Jianjun, Sales Dept. Manager, said, "The drought is unprecedented this year. We've received lots of orders; the inventory has been sold out, and we have to work extra hours for 5-thousand rockets this month."

As of June 1st, over three hundred artificial rainfall operations were carried out in six provinces. But that's a just a quick fix to a long-term problem.
